TIME TRAVELLERS is the theme for our debut issue 001
We are interested in work that sits at the intersection of past, present, and future. Work that plays at the interface of time and possibility. Work that makes visible what humanity has witnessed or how it may transform in the future. Some questions you might sit with:
What fantasies, dreams, creative interpretations do you hold for the future of humanity?
What are the stories, memories, experiences, lineages of the past that speak to you?
How can your creative expression hold something of past, present, and future?
What is your relationship to time and memory?

General Guidelines
Open to all artists 18 and older, anywhere in the world. No prior publication history required. Please fully disclose your use of AI in generating your artwork. We do accept work generated in part by AI and expect you to share details about the process. Include content warnings for work that addresses sexual violence, self-harm, suicide, abuse, or graphic content. Place warnings at the top of your submission document.
Accepted Formats
Poetry: 1 to 4 pages. Multiple short poems or one long poem; mix and match. 12pt font, indicate where each piece ends.
Prose: Up to 1,500 words. Short stories and flash fiction welcome. Completed works only; no excerpts or chapters. 12pt font.
Visual Art and Illustration: 1 to 10 artworks. Includes digital art. High resolution scans and images only. JPG or PNG. Include a transcript of any text.
Photography: Up to 15 photographs. Captions welcome. High resolution. JPG or PNG.
Collage: Up to 10 pieces. Digital or analogue; high-resolution scans for physical work. JPG or PNG.
Comics: Up to 10 pages. Self-contained story only; no chapters or excerpts. JPG or PNG. Include a transcript of all text.
Visual Poetry: Up to 15 images. Follow visual art guidelines. JPG or PNG. Include transcript of poem text.
Audio and Spoken Word: No longer than 10 minutes. MP3 format. Include a written transcript.
Mixed Media: Follow the guidelines for each medium included and submit together.
Other: If your medium is not listed, email us before submitting. We are open to the unexpected.
Important Notes: Send files as email attachments directly. We read everything submitted and will respond to all submissions. Response times may vary. If you have a question not answered here, write to us. We would rather you ask than not submit.
By submitting your work, you confirm that it is your own original creation, that you have the right to submit it for publication, and that you consent to Reascend Creative publishing it in the print edition of Time Travellers. Acceptance of a submission does not guarantee publication. We ask for non-exclusive rights to publish your work in the print edition of Time Travellers and in a digital edition released following the print run, as well as in promotional materials across our platforms. Compensation: Contributors receive a physical copy of the issue if artist is located in the U.S., UK, or India.
How to Submit
Read the guidelines fully before preparing your submission. Prepare your files in the correct format. Name files clearly: LastName_Medium_Title.
PDF attachments accepted. In the body of your email, include your full name, artist name (if relevant), contact info, headshot and brief bio (2 to 4 sentences) for publicity use, your medium, and any content warnings if applicable.Email submissions to info@reascendcreative.com with the subject line:
